My Thoughts about Camtasia 2025?
To be honest, as a long-term and loyal user like myself, my expectations for the upgraded new features in the software are much higher. Overall, I’m quite disappointed with the new features added to the software. There are some features that I rarely use, such as the kinetic cursor or cursor elevation. Honestly, it’s fine to have them, but their absence doesn’t really matter either.
There are two features I actually find worthwhile are the AI noise removal and AI caption. These are essential feature for any video editing software nowadays. However, about the AI noise reduction, with Camtasia, it’s not particularly important, I think. Educational content creators like me will always set up a quiet recording environment since we constantly work with computers. No fool would take a computer out onto the street to record educational videos, right?
Finally, regarding the change in the licensing pricing model, I don’t feel it affects me much since I purchased my license a long time ago anyway. I will provide more in-depth information about Camtasia 2025 pricing plans and our special discount coupon later in this article.

With Camtasia 2025, TechSmith added new feature about the Camera which is cool because you can preview the video prior hitting the record button. It’s great for lighting and composition check. I’ve been using Camtasia for recording my computer screen for years and I do love the way it works as well as cursor effect we can add to the video later in post. Compared to other screen recording software, Camtasia operates stably, has fewer minor bugs, and its best feature is that it allows recorded videos to be saved as separate tracks. With just one screen recording session, you will get a screen recording video file, a webcam video, an audio track from the microphone, and a system audio track. Editing and refining videos become incredibly easy when using Camtasia for screen recording. I’ve only seen this feature in a few professional software programs, such as ActivePresenter.

Overall, the asset library in Camtasia 2025 is significantly larger compared to the 2024 version. This is quite understandable, as newer versions are generally always better than their predecessors. With Camtasia 2025, you still get an asset library packed with tons of resources such as intros, outros, lower thirds, titles, callouts, icons, motion backgrounds, animated characters, templates, and much, much more. In short, it’s incredibly extensive. To be honest, even after using Camtasia for nearly 7 years, I haven’t even utilized a tenth of the asset library they provide.
The Camtasia Asset Library is far more than just a collection of pre-made elements. It’s a powerful resource designed to empower video creators, enhance efficiency, and elevate the quality of their video content. By leveraging the diverse range of assets available, you can save valuable time, achieve a professional look and feel, maintain brand consistency, and ultimately create more engaging and impactful videos.
But, not every thing is free of charge. Free assets are included in the library when you install the software. You can also download more free assets from the store. But, if you want more fancy assets, you’ll need to subscribe to premium service of Camtasia which will cost $199/ year. With this subscription, you can access to ulimited downloads.
Another good thing about Camtasia asset library is that you can create your own library inside the software. It is very convenient when you have to resue a material over multiple projects.
Camtasia 2025 AI Features
Camtasia 2025 includes many AI features which are helpful for content creators and trainers such as AI voice, AI Script writing, text-based editing, AI image generator, AI Subtitles, AI Translations and so on. Some features are very helpful. But, only some of them available in Camtasia Essentials plan. Many of them are in Audiate or Camtasia Assets. This means, if you want to use all these AI features, you’ll need to purchase Camtasia Create or Camtasia Pro.
Camtasia 2025 Free Trial and Pricing Plans
The tool offers 7 days free trial period. You can try Camtasia 2025 and export your project with watermark on the output. After 7 days, you need to purchase a license of Camtasia to continue using the software.
